I’m linking to a blog called décor8, an interior design blog. The blogger, Holly Becker, is admirable as a result of her authority as an experienced design consultant and showcases her creative eye on the blog with visually inspiring images and engaging posts that the reader can relate to, even if one is not well-versed in the topic. She provides numerous how-to guides and d-i-y directions (with visual aids, of course), interviews with designers and stylists and sometimes relates her posts to her own personal life.
This particular post is more personal than most of her others, which appealed to me immediately because of Becker’s knack for writing in a relatable manner. Throughout the post, I often found myself reacting with “me too!” feelings as the author described her love for sharing knowledge with others and learning knew things from people of different backgrounds and cultures. Also, the last paragraph engages the reader by asking questions and encouraging one to comment.
